Food-Related Books from the Eighteenth to Twentieth Century
One of the focuses of the business in recent years has been cookbooks & food-related editions, in English & French. Cookbooks by Escoffier, Curnosky, Ali-Bab, Toulouse-Lautrec, Berthe, Gilbert, Dumont, Mathiot, Saint-Ange, Pellaprat & Montagne are all names that we have available in French. In English you’ll find two editions of Physiologie du Gout by Brillat-Savarin, Beeton’s All About Country Life, a well-used The London and Country Cook from 1749, as well as Julian Street’s 1912 Paris a la Carte to compliment the selection. Les Cuivres de Cuisine by Jean-Claud Renard a fascinating history into the history & use of copper cooking utensils published by Les Editions de l'Amateur 1997
